Victorian architecture dominates the town center where one can browse the assorted boutiques, artisan & antique shops, walk the historical tour, or picnic by the waterfalls, once the location of a grist mill. Our cottages offer the coziest, impeccable accommodations, and stunning lakefront views. Tucked away in the south bay of Brome Lake in the Eastern Townships, they are individually appointed to meet our guests every whim. Located one hour south of cosmopolitan Montreal and one half hour from scenic Vermont, our cottages reflect country living in true comfort. The Captain’s Cottage is a cozy blend of modern conveniences and cherished antiques. In the living area, large oak and leather rockers look out over the water through double french doors, Victorian style area rugs here and there, stained glass lamps and recessed lighting offer a warm glow throughout the main floor. Relaxing is what this cottage is all about. Curl up on the sofa and be mesmerized by the woodstove fire or one of the many beautiful sunsets over Brome Lake. Morning sun streams through the original 12 paned 4’x6’ kitchen window. Accessed by the “Cubby Room”, a game-come- bedroom, the 2nd storey bedroom has an incredible view from the sitting balcony and ample closet and storage space. The Island View cottage has been completely renovated and has a modern look without compromising the cottage feel. Comfy settees overlook lake views through the living room picture window. The rounded mahogany tinted staircase leading to the 2 bedrooms, and hand-crafted by a local artisan, is a centerpiece in itself. It’s a great entertaining cottage with the kitchen island joining the living area. Everyone can bask in the light of the wood fire and take in breathtaking views from every window. Take a leisurely stroll to the center of our Victorian village, bounding with boutiques, bistros, artisans, antiques, and so much more. INITIAL ARRIVAL SUNDRIES: With our compliments, we provide robust coffee, tea, tisanes, sugars, dish soap, perfume and dye-free laundry soap & softener, and various bath sundries. BOATING: Guests with a boat (max. 18ft) are offered slip availability during their stay, at Marina Knowlton located next door, for a nominal fee. A canoe, a kayak, and a fishing boat are available for our guests use.
